The National Mining Agency (ANM) has announced that the agency will soon be undergoing structural changes. In information material, it was pointed out that the agency's current scenario, in which a reduced workforce and the impossibility of new competitions are visible, calls for alternatives that present improvements for the institution and optimise the national management process.
Among the main changes announced is the closure of state offices. According to the agency, the ANM's current 25 state offices will be transformed into 11 regional units.
These units will be located in Amazonas, Pará, Ceará, Minas Gerais, Pernambuco, Bahia, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Santa Catarina. In Minas Gerais, the Patos de Minas and Poços de Caldas offices would be abolished and only the Governador Valadares office would remain. The offices in Itaituba (PA) and Criciúma (SC) would also be kept.
This change in structure, according to the agency, will make it possible to equalise the regional units with the same structure and the same positions. In addition, the changes also introduce a "transversal" operation, with unified work processes. This would allow the agency to act more efficiently, effectively and with greater and better internal and external results.
